Wrapping the Community in Warmth

"Wrapping the Community in Warmth" is a blanket drive and community initiative of the Gundersen Nursing Department supported by local institutions, serving people in need of material warmth in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Nicaragua, and Tanzania. This service is accomplished through hospitals and approximately 20 agencies, including Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Birthright, American Red Cross, the Warming Center, and New Horizons, a shelter for battered women and children.

We ask you to try to donate one or more blankets for people who are homeless, very poor, or are very sick or dying. They should be new, gently used and clean, or handmade and clean. Please drop off in Aquinas High School's Room 107. Make sure you print your name and mark the number of blankets you donate on the sheet provided.

The end of our blanket drive is January 7. Your name will be put on a slip of paper as many times as the number of blankets you donate. We will draw from this collection, and the winner will receive three gift cards worth $50 total for Marcus Theaters, MOKA, and Amazon.

Please donate if you can! Thank you.
